Three weeks ago I got my ears pierced. It was kind of scary when I first went into the pharmacy (it's different than the US, you can get your ears pierced here at a pharmacy or at a hospital) because before when we had tried to have my ears pierced the nurse was going push the earring through with his bare hands. So, before he did it, we decided that we would try to get it done at another place that actually had a piercing gun.
It was kind of painful. There was a guy that kept telling me (in French) that it didn't hurt. But I was feeling the pain and I wanted to tell him it DID hurt. He never had his ears pierced, so he didn't know how much it hurt.
After a while, I figured out that the earrings I chose were actually almost the same color as my birth stone. And I have a necklace from Disney World that is my birth stone, so I can wear them together.
After I got my ears pierced I was sad because I thought that I didn't have any other earrings. But then, my mom reminded me that Aunt Cynthia had given me a few pairs this summer. Just a few days ago, I got 2 more pairs of earrings from my friend Ysabelle and then I got a pair from Janet Bales who was one of the teachers at our kids program in Bamenda. So now I'm very happy because I have many options to chose from for when I take my earrings out for the first time, which will be around 2 weeks from today.
